Kashi's Twelve Jyotirlinga Replicas
Varanasi's own Dwadash Jyotirlinga yatra: Kashi Vishwanath, the one original Jyotirlinga in the city, together with Kashi's pratikriti (replica) shrines of the other eleven.
Significance & tradition
Kashi Vishwanath is the only one of the twelve original Jyotirlingas that stands in Varanasi. Devotees also visit replica (pratikriti) shrines of the other eleven within the city, so that a pilgrim can complete a symbolic circuit of all twelve without leaving Kashi.
History
UP Tourism's Pawan Path lists this yatra, and Hindi news reports (2018, 2021) give street addresses for the twelve shrines. A 2024 research team has disputed the exact location of some of them.
How this list was compiled
Twelve shrines as listed by UP Tourism. Eleven are replicas, not the original Jyotirlingas; only Kashi Vishwanath is an original. Addresses come from two news sources and some are disputed, so the shrine locations should be confirmed on site.
