Ujjain's climate is typical of central India, with hot and dry summers, and mild winters. The monsoon season brings moderate rainfall from June to September, with the rest of the year being relatively dry.

Getting there & around

• Rail — Ujjain Junction is reported at about 2-3 km from the temple, with trains from Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Bhopal. Dharamshalas near the temple are described as the practical choice for the 4 AM aarti, with temple trust accommodation also available. Book well ahead for Mahashivratri and for Simhastha 2028.
